Magnet Application

Admission Requirements

  1. Parental consent

  2.  Overall 2.5 G. P. A. or above for the last 4 semester (grades for last 2 years)

  3.  LEAP/iLEAP Test Scores: Score BASIC or above on both the English Language Arts  and Mathematics

  4.  Motivation toward excellence in academics

Standards to Be Maintained 

(to remain at SPEMA)

  1. 2.5 overall (cumulative) grade point average

  2. Attendance record of 95% (Exception: excused absences)

  3. Conformation to behavior standards set by the school system

  4. Parental consent and support

Other Requirements

  1. ​All incoming 7th and 8th grade students must obtain 2.5 or above GPA each semester on course work completed at Scotlandville Middle Magnet to maintain eligibility

  2. A probation student must attain an average that brings the cumulative GPA to 2.5 or above.

  3. A student can be on probation only once and can appeal for re-instatement only while a Scotlandville Middle Magnet

  4. A student who leaves for academic reasons cannot apply for re-admittance until after one full year (applies only to students who leave in the 6th grade and seek re-admittance in the 8th grade.)
